Testimony of Graciela Castaneda
Growing up was very hard for me since my mom wasn’t really involved in my life. I didn’t have the support I wished I had with her. My dad left when I was 10, so I felt all alone. I fell into rebellion & didn’t care about anything. I ended up pregnant with my first son at 15. 2 years ago, I started smoking weed. I would just be smoking weed all day, not caring about the people I would be hurting. But let me tell you, I was lost. I would spend my days getting high trying to fill that void that I had in me. I thought smoking would make everything better & I was wrong.
I had tried to quit many times because it got to a point where I couldn’t even remember where I would put things around my home. I would get panic attacks all the time & my anxiety was horrible. I knew I didn’t want to live like that anymore, but I couldn’t quit. The longest time I had stayed sober was 2 weeks. Something just kept holding onto me. I had to change!!
My husband woke me up an early Sunday morning. I thought it was to get high, but he told me to get ready we are going to church. I was surprised that he would even mention it. The first time I stepped through The Door was August 3, 2025. That day I knew something changed in me. I went into service not thinking much of it. I had gone to many other Christian churches growing up, so I had no hope this church was going to be much different. But let me tell you, I was wrong. I felt the presence of God. Something I hadn’t felt in a very long time. I walked out of service that day without having the urgency to get high. I felt FREE!!
God changed me that day & I got baptized in water August 31, 2025. I have been sober ever since. I thank God for everything he has done for me & my family. God is a miracle worker. He can do great things for those who believe. Even in the darkest circumstances God is always there to guide & help us. Don’t give up, God is there for you & me.
